An Artistic Adventure

What genre of art does my work fit into?

From the outside my artwork looks mostly like Visionary Art or Prophetic Art, however I do not consider myself to be a Prophetic or Visionary artist, I’m creating something new! I have mentioned these genres multiple times, mostly because they are the most similar of the popular genres that might help those with that artistic taste to find my work online. But I want to take people so much further than prophecies and visions!

I’m here to talk about connection with all we “know” as “God” and that which is beyond our knowing; to dive deep into The Self with Source in mind. I’m here to create a space for remembrance of such a connection and all that comes with it. To tug on emotions with more than just images of something someone can relate to, but with hidden vibrational wisdom to intrigue the Spirit to think past it’s borders. It’s not so much about the images I’m guided to create as it is about the path of a message I’m guided to lead someone down, beginning with myself as I am guided while creating the painting and then later for others who are spiritually aligned to hear its messages.

Visionary Artists are often described as someone who is painting something they have seen in a vision, dream, or psychedelic experience. While my art is influenced by these, most of my work is conjured up from my imagination. Only a few times was I given an entire image that was ready to go right away, any other time I start with a concept, an idea, a certain piece of wisdom to portray and the images come secondary, they must fit in with the concept.

My art fits in with Visionary Art because my pieces are often visions for the future; a prayer, a manifestation. While these sorts of visions are certainly described in the culture of Visionary Art, I hear more talk about the universal images that are seen before the creation process begins and how viewers have seen the same images prior in their own visions. I’m here to create an image that is so different, one is forced outside of their usual patterns of sight and in turn see a new concept or feel a new spirit about them.

Spiritual wisdom is a huge part of Visionary Art and in this way, my work fits in. Same for Prophetic, it’s a word or image from God that the artist expresses and the work of art has a very specific role in the life of one or more of it’s viewers. Just like Visionary, Prophetic Art may also have something very specific to say about the future. My art has pieces of all these as well, the few times I have received images, there is no doubt Who they came from and I know each painting I create has a very specific person in its destiny to talk to, if not many. I also know that every concept comes from Source and the spiritual wisdom I am portraying is in alignment with what Source is directing from my life.

Beyond all the labels and ideas, I’m excited to see where my practice takes me! I’m going somewhere unique with mixtures of many genres, dipping my toes in the surrealist realm, conceptual, symbolic, psychedelic, and most obviously, illustration & character art. In fact cartoons are one of the current key features that separates my art from many other visionary artists. I love that carefree, childlike, playful side that brings a happy vibe of innocence into the picture! My lighthearted style brings people to an open place of receivership from the get go, focusing on empowerment rather than issues one wants to change in the world.

All in all, my artistic genre is a teaching genre, a welcoming one that is less about visuals and more about feelings; less about feelings and more about lessons. It touches on prayer, Christ Consciousness, mysticism, and imagination. It’s a space to learn and integrate truth, a tool for manifestation, worship and praise. It is conveying emotional knowledge: a concept, as well as what it feels like. Wisdom, along with its unique energy pattern played out within our body.

I conclude that my art genre is “Limitless Imagination!”

It will involve and become as unique as myself, as my personality and experiences collide and I do my best to portray it. It will be its own sort of thing since I am a hundred percent unique from my DNA to my inner-being.

Guess what!? You are too!

What will you do with your unique gifts?
