What Quality to Expect in My Original Paintings

“Forest Girl” Acrylic Painting by Matilda Wentzel

I pour my heart & soul into my work because I desire it to bring empowerment and joy for generations to come! So it makes sense that I would choose the best quality and longest lasting materials to work with.

I never skimp on time either, the process I use to create my work is very time consuming and involves many long hours of tedious detail and attention, but the end result is always worth it. And don’t worry, I’m enjoying myself the whole time! Intense focus on repetitive details has an amazing effect on me, it puts me into the flow zone. What more needs to be said?

You can imagine that when I combine great materials, lots of time, focus and attention to details with heart, soul and intentions, the end result is always an energetically charged and very high quality piece of work!

In fact, about a year or two ago, I had a few pieces hanging in a restaurant where a gallery owner had seen it in person and asked me later if they were oil paintings. This is an amazing statement because they are acrylic paintings and I know the owner had a lot of experience interpreting artwork and their mediums. She started her gallery in 2000 and I’m sure she was viewing a lot of work in the years prior. Gallery owners usually have an eye for art and what medium it is created in. For instance, a while back when my work was still in infancy, I showed a gallery owner a picture on my phone of one of my pieces and he knew it was painted in acrylics even from a small image. I was surprised and asked, “How could you tell?” he said, “Oh, I can just tell.”

Beyond the quality of the look, there are materials and I can guarantee that I use the finest! My paintings are created with Winsor & Newton Professional Grade Modeling Paste, Acrylic Paint, and Sealer. As well as Liquitex Professional Grade Acrylic Paint.

  • The sealer protects against UV light & airborne particles.

  • The paint is rated with a Lightfastness Level 1, which is the highest quality for color retention.

  • The modeling paste is a medium I use to smooth the canvas before I begin painting. (I use multiple layers and sandpaper till it is as smooth as possible, chick here to learn more about my process)

  • The canvases themselves are professional grade & gallery wrapped. I always paint the sides so they are ready to hang & don’t require any framing. They also always have a ready to hang wire on the back. (But they can also be framed if you desire to do so.) On occasions there are exceptions to surfaces I use.

In the end you can trust any purchase of my original artwork will be something you can pass down to the next generation….even if you hang it in the direct sunlight!  Please reach out to me with any questions here, and check out what the True investment in a painting is here
