How We Hypnotize Ourselves Everyday

The Hypnotizing Machine

A Painting Description

As always you are free to interpret this piece however you choose or are led to understand it.

These are simply my own thoughts which I feel inspired to share.

My own interpretations change as I revisit with pieces as time goes on, but these are my initial thoughts at the time of creation.

It’s interesting to contemplate hypnosis. Perhaps we think of it as being a circus trick and joke. We conjure up images of the swirling eyes we see in cartoons and a stopwatch swung back and forth, hearing “You are getting very sleepy.”

As with all states of consciousness, it’s a belief and also a practice. Perhaps the same habitual thought patterns keep us in a state of hypnosis that we aren’t even aware of. The neuron pathways are fired again and again, literally creating grooves of thought. But our mind is very pliable and can change fast and easily at any age! Traditional hypnosis can speed up that process.

This painting is about being aware of the hypnotic thoughts we think on a regular basis. The repetition reprograms our subconscious, either for positive change or just more of the same, however lame “the same” may be.

Recently, in fact this very day that I’m writing this, I just went to a hypnosis therapy session. It’s an interesting synchronicity of timing. The hypnosis was very helpful, and I encourage you to look into if you have some upleveling you’d like to accomplish in your own life.

It’s not really a circus trick, these therapists have knowledge about how our brains work and certifications to prove it. Hypnosis just brings you into a suggestible state of mind. But in the end we are always the ones doing the suggesting.

This is a very powerful piece of understanding, as we get to choose our state of mind. During those times when we want to feel better yet feel powerless to do so, we can use pre-recorded affirmations. I’ve shared lots of subconscious reprogramming meditations on my youtube here. This is a playlist. While these are not hypnosis (because they don’t have a talk down as well as other key elements), they are great affirmations that uplift and encourage. If you need some “social proof” that one of these affirmation videos, “All My Dreams Are Coming True”, now has over four thousand listens, and I made on a whim, without even editing it much! This one about Self Esteem is one of my favorites, take a listen.

Furthermore, make your own affirmations and pick your highest thoughts each day!
