Not Bodies, a poem

Not Bodies

We are not bodies after all

We got caught up in the connectivity

We got distracted in the touchable

We are not skins after all

We got so touchy

We got dragged around by it all

We are not what we seem to be after all

We got snagged in the senses

We got all torn up by the objects

We are not hairs & freckles after all

We got lured in by the walls

We got intoxicated by the fabrics

We are not fingerprints after all

We got frazzled by the emotionless

We got mixed up in the fake feelings

We are not footprints & farts after all

We got to thinking food was filling

We got to imagining with only a brain

We are rather something inexplainable

But we are not bodies, skins, what we seem to be

Hairs & freckles, fingertips with fingerprints, footsteps or farts

We are not any of that explainable stuff

Just in it

Inside of it

Alive in it

After all
