If you haven’t already noticed, I quite obviously love to make art while simultaneously listening to Live music!! But that doesn’t always mean they are music related, especially if my mind is distracted by some other emotional rabbit trail.
Here's a piece I recently created at a well-known music festival called Floyd Fest.
It's my second time painting a broken heart at that festival and, here is the broken heart I painted there the first year I went, which was 2 years ago.

It seems as though I've been dealing with emotional rollercoasters for quite some time, but haven't we all!?
Thankfully I'm in a much better place than ever before.
As with many of my paintings touching on heavy emotions, I painted a “way out”. Its empowering elements can be seen as the fiery girl is melting the numbness of her heart. The ice cubes start to escape through transformation!
She also has a needle to stitch up those torn pieces. When we experience trama, our sense of self fragments very literally as changes in the brain can be so drastic as to even block out memories of the event. So you can imagine healing takes us on a journey of discovery, a dark discovery to be loved back to life!
I like that there's an anatomical heart inside of your usual cartoon heart!
