This Painting is a brand new 2022 piece created in my artistic style from pre-2017, aka this is how I used to paint; more realistic.
It's such a good feeling to get back to the basics, the simplicity of it is so freeing! It just flowed out of me so quickly and naturally!
This is a piece about LOVE & ROMANCE because my husband and I go skiing in the spot that inspired it! Do you see the little ski tracks?
It's a spot where there was once a fire and the trees are all charcoaled! It's nice to bring home charcoal marks on my clothes, evidence of fun times! Amazingly, we usually hear a little woodpecker on our journey!! I suppose there's a lot of bugs there with so many dead trees around.
I just love woodpeckers, they remind me of back home in Virginia. Too inspiring not to paint! Such a little creature, but yet it has the power to connect two individuals through awe of creation. As we experience something together and spend time with one another, our love is strengthened and digs deeper into our hearts and memory houses.
Beyond that, there is an even higher love we are connected to as we re-remember The Artist of such wonderful Living Artwork! Gratitude naturally takes its place!
This piece is titled "Bacon Rind Paradise" because the local spot near West Yellowstone, Montana that inspired this piece is named Bacon Rind.
