As I've been mentioning in my podcast I have returned to the Mother Goose Wing of my God!
So glad to be spiritually protected, and more than that, healed on so many levels!
I feel so satisfied and grounded, a true soul happiness, to be back following my most true and authentic beliefs.
Where did this Christain Fish Symbol originate from and what does it mean?
When I came back to my faith, I was uncomfortable with the more traditional cross symbol for various reasons, one being it also symbolizes death and torture and is often used stereotypically in so many ways I don't resonate with.
That being said, I have latched on to the Fish symbol instead.
The early church used to refer to their beliefs as "The Way" before the term "Christian" came to be.
They used this Fish symbol to covertly alert each other that they were followers of "The Way".
They needed this secret symbol because at the time their lives were threated because the Romans were out to kill (many on a cross) for believing in and following the ways of Christ.
Many of these people had seen Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew) with their own eyes and were willing to give up their lives before they were willing to essentially "Lie" by saying they renounced their faith or the authenticity of Christ who "Claimed to be God".
They used this symbol to notify each other of their beliefs in secret by easily drawing it in the sand while talking to one another, or placing it over their door posts in the spaces where they would meet together for worship.
This allowed them still be able to fellowship with other "believers" without bringing harm to themselves or their families.
