I've Been in the Lost Moments of Desperation, a poem.
I've Been in the Lost Moments of Desperation
I've been in the lost moments of desperation
Flooded and pressed down by the cages of lack
Squashed and forgotten in the dark caverns of fear
But do you think I let that hold me down for one second?
Well I did.
I used to,
Before the door of light opened in my eyes,
When the Hand reaching out was still invisible to me,
Once when doubt still had the louder argument.
But the Hand never gave up its tug of hope
The tug of war between the spiral and the Strength;
The Strength overflowing from its fingertips like a waterfall.
It wasn't me who decided to be free,
I just chose to forget,
In a blissful surrender of desperation.
Now you'll find me building bridges over the canyons of lacking hearts,
And swinging down from the mountains just far enough to see the dark shadows of the caverns,
Never strong enough to lure me back in.
You have become the light of the Sun in a mind of mazes!
