Vision & Mission
My life has recently taken a major turn which is causing me to rethink my mission. But truth be told, I’m actually going back to my original mission that I had from the start, the very first one that I got away from for quite some time. Isn't it amazing how life does that? Brings us right back to where we started. And isn’t it telling how often that initial intention or thought is really the most authentic for us before we start second guessing?
I have always had an intention of expressing a very special and sacred relationship through my artwork. A relationship that began when I was a child and continues to grow deeper. This relationship is ineffable, but in a sense it is my personal relationship with God.
I invite you to use my work to explore this relationship for yourself, perhaps in new ways!
My work is always to point people to Christ. The original intention I had back in the day was to help break down the stereotype of Christianity and reflect what’s actually at the heart of following Christ which is very different from following a church.
Church comes in all types and forms and can even be a cult if you’re not careful. Christians also come in so many different forms and sometimes can even lead people away from Christ.
A true follower of Christ is someone who is Christ-like, not of their own accord for no one is perfect, but through daily devotion to “Thy will and not my own”. This comes naturally through the inner transformation that true Chritsians experience when they devote their heart to God. This transformative lifestyle then overflows to others.
The main issue we see in our world is people hurting others, Christian or not, which then leaves a bad taste in our mouth, leaving us searching elsewhere and anywhere for inner peace and that “true life, life to the fullest”.
The stereotype of Christianity often comes with hypocritical judgments, from others looking in and from the Christians looking out. But the thing is, we are all humans and we are all on a journey. Christians don’t claim to be perfect like some monks do. Christianity is very different in the aspect of what it promises and what its goals are.
Furthermore Christians may come across as judgmental because we see from a different perspective and only want the best for everyone. But we all have blind spots and now more than ever we are called to center ourselves in a trustworthy foundation and interact with each other with understanding and gentleness.
All that being said, as you journey around on my website, you may find I’m the most hypocritical of them all because my belief system has been all over the place. I’ve just recently returned to my Faith and you can hear my story and what that means on my podcast. But basically, I’ve got a mixture of things on my website from Christian to “iffy-christian” perspectives. I’m currently going through it all and deciding what to keep, change, or entirely erase.
Please get in touch with me about your own journey as I’d love to hear it regardless of where you are or how messy it is, believe me I can relate!
